Sorry for the delay, but several consecutive days of not getting to bed until 11 in the gweepning got to me.

2006
[Aberrant] The Ethiopian government announces the completion of Operation Eden. The Ethiopian Highlands, formerly a dry, flat, desert plain, are now a verdant grassland. The grateful Ethiopian government gives Project Utopia a large headquarters in Addis Ababa. Ethiopia soon becomes the breadbasket of Africa.

That headquarters, an arcology, soon eclipses the old city.

[Aberrant] Yoshira Nakamura of Kuro-Tek offers to purchase ViaSoft's "Shadow Tracker RM" technology.

I may or may not have mentioned Nakamura-san before; I'm pretty sure I've mentioned his cousin, Mitsu Nakamura, head of the Directive's Japanese branch.

[Aberrant] The Jefferson City (MO) Times-Dispatch reports on the Weltey conviction, and notes that "Tonight, as 'Brother Elias' is transported under heavy guard to an unnamed prison, authorities will be watching for signs of satanic terrorism."

There was no attempt to free him by the Domitori (Astaroth and his "avatars" Belial, Beltaine and Grimskull). For all his I 4M TEH 4N71CHR157 posturing, Gundolfsson realizes that any anti-social act large enough, and sufficiently undeniable, to count as a real crime would draw the attention of Project Utopia (and/or, these days, the Teragen), which is not something he wants to face at this point.

Do they usually continue trials on Sunday?

2006
[Aberrant] Stanley Jason "Brother Elias" Weltey, of St. Louis, is sentenced to six consecutive life terms without parole in connection with the kidnappings of six infants in the Springfield (MO) area; he is alleged to have eaten the corpses as part of an organized Church of Astaroth ritual.

Tomorrow's article in the Jefferson City Times-Dispatch will quote Amber de Rais (probably not her real name), one of Weltey's "sisters in Darkness", as opining that "Jason wouldn't have been given nearly as harsh a sentence if he'd been an apathetic sheep like the rest of you!" Defense counsel was less voluble about the verdict, but still called it "religious persecution, along the lines of the Salem Witch Trials" and confirmed their intent to appeal.

And, on a happier if spookier note, a marvel and a monster.

1979
[Aberrant] Angela de la Cruz, later the Terat known as "Narcosis," born in Los Angeles, CA.

She's spent the last three years seeking the stimulus that will trigger her eruption. She's tried everything from drugs to mysticism to murder, but it took near-fatal torture by a professional dominatrix to give her what she wanted.

2002
[Aberrant] "The Laws of the Unholy Might of The Astaroth" are first posted to the "Dark Altar" OpSite (reignofevil.com).

In OTL, that URL has been claimed by [livejournal.com profile] sunblade — as he's an Aberrant fan, this was presumably deliberate.

DEATH DEATH DEATH

1999
[Aberrant] The corpses of three members of death-metal band "Nails of Faith," along with seven others, are found in a "blood-garden" outside Gjovik [Norway] — badly mutilated, impaled on oak spikes, and left for the crows. Ragnar Vargerson, Bjorn "Kin-slayer" Geissler and Thorfinn "Bloodaxe" Hoffmann have all been given the blood-eagle.

This is mentioned in a news article reprinted in Aberrant: ReignofEvil.com, so I'm pretty sure it was Thor Gundolfsson's doing.

Violence! Violence!

1999
[Aberrant] Thor Gundolffsson and his "huskarls" attack Hagalz Hall, killing the reigning "jarl" and over half his followers.

And consider, he was still a baseline when he did that.

And so it begins...

1999
[Aberrant] [Pedro] Santiago, [Raoul] Orzaiz, and new recruits Marcel Delorimier (a French ultra-nationalist convinced of nova supremacy) and Caroline Fong (an Oxford-educated philosopher and business consultant) gather in Santiago, Chile. They will continue to meet every quarter or so for the next several years, joined by a few more like-minded novas every little while.

Great oaks from little acorns grow. And the next item is another example of that.

2000
[Aberrant] Thor Gundolfsson and Brian "Belial" Petford meet at Burning Man.

The counterculture event was starting to go mainstream by that point in TU history, but it hadn't quite been subsumed yet. Gundolfsson (né Letift Morgaanstern) and Petford met up in an orgy tent, shared "a few women and a lot of drugs," and went out into the desert to drop acid (six tabs each).

Gundolfsson, the relatively new jarl of Hagalz Hall (center of Norway's death-metal scene), saw the world consumed by fire, with demons flying everywhere. Five of those demons grabbed him, then beheaded and quartered him. When his blood struck the ground, it boiled into steam, steam that lifted his dismembered body higher.

Petford, the elfishly pale mystic and Lovecraftian, saw himself turn into a dark, towering figure, like Nyarlathotep the Crawling Chaos, howling with mad joy at the capering hordes beneath him. He saw himself delivering Earth into the hands of the Great Old Ones whose soul and messenger he had become.

But that was just the beginning. )

This entry is from one of those voices I mentioned last time. If he hadn't been so busy, it would have gone up on the day it got to me; luckily, only one thing had to be changed to reflect that. For legal reasons, he can't use his own name here, so please welcome Hugh Boone.

Now five years later on, you've got the world at your feet
Success has been so easy for you...
