Webcomic recommendation

aberrantangelsI think one of the reasons I never really got into Sluggy Freelance as much as most geeks is that I discovered it through the Steve Jackson Games Daily Illuminator, which found out about it after it'd been running for a couple've years. Unfortunately, that was at a time when our connection was still dial-up (what my stained sainted Unca Cheeks calls "two tin cans and a string"), so reading through two years' worth of archives was a long endeavor.
But with broadband, reading an entire webcomic's archive can be done in an afternoon. And so I just did, from the very beginning, with the archives of El Goonish Shive, on the recommendations of him whom mortals call Redleg Rick. It's one of those comics that start out as light-hearted fluff but turn into something deeper than they act like. In other words, typical of the webcomic medium, and of the best Internet-based storytelling.
