Revelation and updates
Sep. 5th, 2004 11:28 amEDITED 11:55 AM to update some of the updates.]
The revelation is this: I should not try to do anything complicated on the Sunday of a Worldcon. Like paying attention to panels. Or watching the Masquerade. Basically, after the Hugos, it's all downhill for me.
Updates:
The latest number of the Triplanetary Gazette (the con newsletter) said CONGRATUTIONS [sic] TO NIPPON! So the 2007 Worldcon will, as we suspected, be going to Yokohama after all. At least Columbus has a shot at hosting the NASFiC. At the Lord of the Rings Exhibit, there was an albino who looked a lot like my Mississippi friend Virginia Smith, but who recognized neither my face nor my name. She has, however, heightened the resemblance by carrying around a large plushie of her own making. Ginny's plushie was Edward Scissorhands; this albino has a working puppet!Angel (no game face, sad to say). There was something else when I got here, I know there was. That's how tired I am. It's not you, it's me. Okay, there's something to go here now. I saw the Rincewind cosplayer my mom told me about the other night. Okay, he was carrying his costume folded up in his arms, but I saw him, and (actually before I saw him) I saw his remote-controlled Luggage.
