It's me again, Margaret.

If you don't mind, I've got some canon issues that I'd like to run by you with regard to this particular pup.

*face-palms* Apparently, I didn't check the box that makes LJ tell me that I got a reply when I created this journal.

I was reading through his entry in Adventure! and noticed that canon states that folks are a bit mystified by his abilities. Considering that Michael and Max both came out of the Hammersmith Incident as people who didn't quite fit the typical Inspired mold, might Harley have undergone something similar? To my knowledge, he's the only named mesmerist that was present during the Incident...

Speaking of the Incident, canon hints that Harley might have been behind it. Do you have strong feelings about this one way or another?

I also had a few questions about his abilities. Do most of his abilities actually require eye contact, or does eye contact merely make things easier? Also, would Michael 'look' different to someone using the Telluric Resonance knack as compared to what he 'looked' like in the 20s?

Symmetry was my reason for thinking that he ought to come out a bit different from the 'norm' too. It's just too tempting with two of the three positions already filled.

The cross-product conspiracy involving the Hammersmith Incident sounds interesting, but I don't think it would work for Milliways. I'd been imagining Harley taking advantage of Hammersmith's nature in pursuit of power and deciding to arrange an 'accident'. It's an interesting idea thematically, at least. Jackson causes the event that kick-starts the Adventure era and is killed by Michael, who uses his work to end the Adventure era.

Is my bringing him in still alive going to be a problem for you? I thought it would make him a bit more frightening as a villain. The three-day limit on the dead of Milliways limits the kind of trouble they can get up to. Also, it could be an interesting commentary on the Landlord's sense of humor. Michael did tell Bar that he wished the Landlord would bring in someone from home that was alive. ;-)
