"Seven dead bodies" is a little exaggerated. In the outer room of the two room apartment, the living room, four of the bodies are attached to the walls and ceiling by the "biological material" I mentioned. Despite their lack of skin, they're visually recognizable as separate bodies, and as having once been human. The autopsy indicates that their skin was melted off while they were still alive. In the bedroom, under the declaration of nova pride, the other three bodies have been fused together into one hideous lump.
Caulder's jurisdictional clash with Utopia will lead to reprimands, suspension and the loss of her badge, but her soul still cries out for some explanation of the utter inhumanity she saw.

[Aberrant] At 11:03 PM EST, NYPD homicide detective Bridgett Caulder arrives at Apt. 10B, 1576 28th Street, to find seven dead bodies and "biological material" from a never-identified eighth. Burned into the bedroom wall are the words ONE RACE. The apartment belongs to a Hector Guzman, relative of two of the victims, recently discharged from the Manhattan Rashoud facility as a suspected nova.
