Well, Haru already pointed it out on her journal, but it bears repeating. You don't need to speak In Nomine to get a laugh, but it may help.

Also, I meant to point this out when it first appeared, but I was too...flabbergasted. If you read it, sass a frass and let me know which you think I ought to report it to, tws_support or wtf_inc. All I can say is that when I see Dumbledore watching Harry's detention with Dolores and shrieking inside like a schoolgirl as he thinks things like MY SWEET BEAUTIFUL TREASURE!! THE HAG HAS DARED TO HURT MY HARRY!!, two thoughts come to my mind:

Okay, I also think (obviously) of the eiviiaru comment linked above, about how the majority of what's wrong with modern fanfic is the product of adolescent girls (particularly the remark that [i]ncluded in this theory is every fic in which an adolescent female author assumes that all behavior in the world is guided by adolescent-girl thought processes).

First of all, if canon!Dumbledore had seen the Detention with Dolores, he would have put a stop to it, just on the basis that even the wizarding world has provisions for child abuse, I'd guess, and the marks on Harry's hand would be proof enough. And if a powerful wizard is feeling that ... erm ... well, that way about a student being hurt, well ... remember the inflatable aunt? They'd have had to scrape Umbridge up with a shovel.

That's my other objection; no matter how much he may have wanted to distance himself from Harry to avoid Tom's Legilimental scrutiny, I can't believe he'd let something like that go on if he had any inkling of it. I guess I just figured that went without saying (forgetting that my ideas of what goes without saying are so often at odds with other people's that it's better to assume nothing goes without saying on either side).
