I look at the Associated Press release reprinted in Aberrant: Project Utopia, and I see it's dated "March 3, 1999" (which is why I had this as a March 3 event in my calendar file), but that the first word after that date and the (AP) attribution is "Yesterday". My bad.
On March 2, 1999, then, those Tomorrowites and Utopians demolished several abandoned buildings and assembled the pieces into a new brick building. It was to be supplied and staffed within a week, thanks to donations from Æon, various corporations (the article specified Microsoft and "Daimler-Benz"), and "several other organizations". Caestus Pax was quoted as "pleased to be able to extend this helping hand to the people of Russia", saying that fixing the Russian economy was vital to repairing the damage the Moscow Crash did to the larger global economy.
