aberrantangelsToday, Brazilian officials and Team Tomorrow Americas announce that, almost five months after the São Paulo bombing, they still have no leads on the perpetrators. According to the general news release reprinted in Aberrant: Project Utopia, T2MAm's spokesman said they were still working on the case.
In the same news release, a Brazilian policeman on condition of anonymity said that every clue they investigated had led to a dead end that not even Utopian forensic novas could resolve. A (presumably) higher-ranking police official wondered if anyone but another nova could so completely stymie T2M's novas.
Another anonymous source had a different question, one relating to the default description of the bombing. "If it was a terrorist attack," e asked, "why hasn't anyone claimed responsibility? Where are the ransom [sic] demands?"
The benefits to Utopia will show up down the line, and I'll report on them when they would have happened. After 2008, a lot of people will reevaluate the bombing as a possible Project Proteus op. I don't rule that out at all, but I suspect there was more to it than that. ezrael once came up with an interesting theory on the matter, one which I would have incorporated into Hugh's discovery of the truth about Æon if (a) I'd asked Matt's permission and (b) I'd continued writing the Hugh posts.
