aberrantangels: (everyday life)
I am returned from the grave. Let this day be known hereafter as Easter, and stuff your kids with sugar and caffeine in thanks.

Okay, it's not the grave exactly, but the cable connection, modem and all, has been transferred from the apartment to the townhouse. It was supposed to be up and running yesterday, as some of you knew.

A certain thessaliansweet bird may be amazed by this — I know I was — but the problems we had getting it up and running weren't the fault of my dad the anti-geek. Apparently the guy from the cable company didn't report the transfer of our broadband access from the old to the new address, regardless of what he put on the paperwork. (Well, that may be dad's fault for not insisting that we confirm the cable was up and running before we let the workman go, but that's a mistake anyone could've made.) Anyway, I'm back. Trumpets sound, peasants cheer.

his would've gone up yesterday if the modem'd been able to cope. That was, after all, the day it was supposed to go up.

Legitimate business. )
